Dr. Russell Field is Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management at the University of Manitoba. He is the Executive Director of the Canadian Sports Film Festival. His recent research focuses on spectators, from both historical and contemporary perspectives. He will be overseeing the sports film screenings of the symposium and conducting Q and As with two of the film’s directors.
